Thank you for choosing Dark Desire Window Tint and Vinyl. We would like you to have background knowledge on Undercoating. Although we use high rated coatings, there are some factors to consider before the application process. We offer three types of coatings, Oil base, Wax base and Rubber base. Below you will find a brief description of each product.
Oil base coating- Fluid Film is a non-toxic liquid that has been used for over 50 years. This application is applied to the full undercarriage of your vehicle. We will also apply the coating through the frame rails, rockers and doors. This coating can be applied on anything except exhaust (anything that’s hot). This is a 1-year coating, we suggest scheduling a recoat every 10-12 months.
Wax base coating- This coating is not just a preventative but also a sealant. The coating is applied the same way as the Oil; however, we use the oil base for all doors. This is a 3-year coating and we suggest scheduling a recoating every 2 ½ years. The coating is also self-healing, which means if an area has light damage, as the material heats up it will shift into those areas if the coating has not been fully removed or is past its expiration date.
Rubber base coating- This is a black coating that is like your factory coating. The rubber coating is very abrasive and gives you 7 years of protection. We recommend this coating for off-road vehicles, trucks or trailers. We suggest scheduling a recoating every 6 years.
The warranty that comes with all coatings is standard free touch-ups. Dark Desire is not responsible for any mechanical issues due to the coating that’s applied. We do try and avoid any sensitive areas on the vehicle, however with so many components it is not possible to tape off or completely avoid some areas. We do lower the spare tire (if present) only if the lowering cord is working properly. If it is seized or broken, we will attempt to coat as much as possible. The vehicle may smoke after coating due to overspray that may have touched the exhaust. The coating will burn off after a few days. If you choose the Oil coating, you may see a few oil spots on the ground. This is normal, typically it’s just excess that has run off.
The team at Dark Desire does appreciate your support and understanding with all the information listed above. Again, we do aim for perfection for all projects we take on. If you have read and fully understand the information provided to you above, please sign and date the form below.
